Courtside Culture is an editorial and affiliate site covering gear, technique and the culture around pickleball — and, increasingly, padel. Our primary focus is pickleball; padel has its own dedicated section that we're actively growing.
We started with a simple frustration: a lot of paddle "reviews" online are thin rewrites of a manufacturer's own spec sheet, presented as if they were independent findings. We try to do something more useful: read the actual spec sheet, compare it against what other reviewers and retailers publish, and cross-reference publicly available owner feedback before writing a verdict.
What we are not: we do not run an independent testing lab, and we do not claim to have personally hit with every paddle or worn every shoe we write about. Where a page presents an opinion or a "best for" label, that's our editorial synthesis of public information — not a hands-on test result. We'd rather be upfront about that than imply testing we haven't done.
What We Cover
Our editorial coverage spans six areas: paddles, apparel and footwear, accessories, court guides and technique, gift guides, and a dedicated padel section covering rackets, balls and rules. Pickleball remains the primary focus across the site.
How We Research
Each guide starts with manufacturer-published specifications — face material, core thickness, weight, dimensions — pulled from the brand's own product listing and cross-checked against retailer spec sheets. From there, we look at what's consistently reported in publicly available owner reviews across multiple retailers, and we note when sources disagree rather than picking whichever claim is more convenient. Prices shown throughout the site are approximate street prices at the time of writing and change; we say so on every page that lists one.
How We Make Money
Courtside Culture is supported by affiliate commissions through the Amazon Associates Program. When you click through to Amazon from one of our links and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Read our full affiliate disclosure for details. Commissions do not determine which products we cover or how favorably we describe them.
